JAZZ Evidence. The Idea of North (ABC981867-4).

EVIDENCE has been a work in progress for the Idealists for some time. It is worth the wait. There are new songs and arrangements, some marking the continuing progress of Trish Delaney Brown as a composer and arranger, and Thelonius Monk's title track with lyrics and arrangement by James Morrison and featuring David Jones on drums. Morrison also plays flugelhorn on But Not For Me.

of enjoyment of The Idea of North, but is booked for a joint concert at the Hellenic Club, while Idea plays twice at Tilley's soon to introduce the album at the start of a national tour. While polished ever more brightly, the Idea maintains its contact with the audience, sharing its delight and humour in the performances, even it seems when working in the studio.
